The Financial District is a few hundred metres square and it generates more car bookings than anywhere else in the region. Bay and King, First Canadian Place, the TD Centre, Commerce Court, Scotia Plaza, Brookfield Place, the law firms on Adelaide and Wellington, and the hotels along Front. Almost all of it is walkable, which is exactly why the driving that does happen is time-critical: a closing across town, a client from the airport, a five o'clock flight. The constraint down here is never distance, it is stopping. King Street between Bathurst and Jarvis runs as a transit priority corridor and pushes cars to turn right at most intersections. Queen at Yonge is closed for Ontario Line station work. Richmond and Adelaide are a one-way pair. Rush-hour no-stopping rules mean the legal waiting spot at 8:40 is not the legal waiting spot at 11:00, and most of the towers want cars in a specific loading area rather than at the front doors. An hourly block solves nearly all of it, because the car is already yours and the driver has picked the holding position before you come down. For airports: the Gardiner west to Highway 427 for Pearson, with the first two kilometres out of the core the slowest part in the afternoon peak, and Bathurst south to Eireann Quay for Billy Bishop, which is minutes away. Is there a charge for driving out to the edge of the corridor?
Distance is part of the quote from the start, not a surprise line at the end. A run out to Oakville or Oshawa costs more than a run across midtown because it is more hours and more kilometres, and you will see that before you agree to it. What we will not do is quote a downtown number and then add travel once the car is already booked.
Can the car stay with us between stops?
That is the whole point of hourly and as-directed work. The driver and the vehicle are yours for the block of time, so the car waits while you are in the meeting, the appointment, the dinner or the fitting, and your things stay in it. It is usually the better value once a day has three or more stops, because you are not paying to re-book and re-position a car each time.
